Can i please get some assistance from the Bass folk out there!! So i am teaching my wife bass, She has heard 12 Bar so much she can instantly play it with the turn around in basic form and loves it!! :D .....She is a ex trombone player from school band......(Dont be a smart $@! i know what your thinking)...... .. so has the music in her......Which is just so good :D :D :D :D ...More jamming time for me now!!! 8) 8) I have bought here a Hofner Icon beatles bass in black which arrives in a week from the states  . $339 brand new! its short scale and she likes it so its our new bass. Amplification is the question i need answering. I only neeed loud enough for studio style jamming or small venue jamm nights when i am using it with the crew i jam with. I will be playing it also. The wife doesnt want me to spend a fortune or i would buy a Bassman 410 and have another toy for me too, so i want to keep it sort of under 400 ish and i don't know much about bass amplification, I am looking at the Beringer ultrabass series, 45 90 watt, Can anyone tell me the difference of the aluminium cone variants? And are these like buying a line six cheap amp not musical and pieces of junk or have they a nice tone for the money??? Is it true that the wattage is completely different to Guitar amps in like my 40 HRD is so loud its stupid but i am told Bass amp's 40 watts is bearly enough to get over drums in a studio is this true??? And any amps that are the best value 300-400 worth or less that you could tell me about i would be very kind of you all!!!!  Thank you in advance!

One of my amps is an Ultra Bass with a Hartke 410 and a Bag End 115. The UB is plenty good enough with the 410 alone for in a studio. My ultra Bass is 300 watts I believe. I got it used on a trade (UB and Hartke) for what equaled $200.

I've played one at guitar center,But that doesn't mean anything, that bass has been played so many times by so many people. You'll just have to see when it arives. It could be a great bass, but from reading I know that paul mccartney complained that his would never stay in tune.that kinda worries me. :|

If you decide not to go the Fender route Hartke,Vox and Marshall are great options. My daughter bought a small Kustom Bass amp ,it is adequate but not up to the standards of the others that were mentioned.BTW you were given the right info about Behringer-most dealers around here have stopped bringing them in except for one music store that sells mostly Vintage,Jay Turser and other student lines.
