I never got the chance to try a Fender Blender. My "Holy Grail" of fuzz boxes is the Univox Super-Fuzz. In the early '70s I had the 6 transistor model with the orange-red casing and royal blue treadle. Thinking my guitar playing days were over, I gave it away sometime around 1977. Gave it away. For free. It might be worth over $700 today. {Sigh} :(

Today dozens of companies are trying to reproduce the sound and I'm almost ready to buy one of their clones (once I'm gainfully employed again). I've narrowed the field down to:

Wattson Electronics Classic Fuzz - FY-6
Black Cat Super-Fuzz
73 Effects Superfuzz
MJM China Fuzz

Not able to listen to any soundfiles at work :( but the Wattson or 73 Effects sound they'd be nice pedals.

If you can listen at home, here is a video that shows what the Black Cat Super Fuzz can do. Talk about anarchy in a box!

Will listen tonight. That's what you want though, ability to get the thing real nasty but with no hum or extra noise.
