Do you leave your guitar/s hanging from wall hook/s?
If so, do you thing is good/bad for the neck in a long term?
And most important, do you feel safe with it or has anyone ever had an accident like bent or broke hook, smashing the guitar on the floor?

I'm asking this because I 've just recently started hanging my guitar on a hook like this
Image
..and I don't feel totally safe with it.
I'm not afraid of the base of the hook to be ripped off the wall (I've put bigger screws than the tiny provided) but more of the possibility of breakage at the fork joint.
Am I overreacting or is there anyone with a story of a broken guitar?

Check out posts from about a month ago. Lots of good information there. I think the consensus was, hang them but anchor the hangers to a stud, with substantial screws.(Make sure your brackets are strong enough. :)

There shouldn't be a problem if the screws are firmly anchored into a stud.If you are hanging multiple guitars from more than one hook, take a length of 2X4 or 2X6 and screw it into studs every 16" -or very rarely 24" -with substantial screws and then screw your hanging hooks onto the length of lumber instead of the wall.If in doubt about the location of studs buy a stud finder at your local hardware store.BTW I wouldn't trust using any of the plastic wall plugs to hang something as valuable as a guitar.

+1 Been hanging my guitars in my home for 10+ years and never had a problem.

Guitslinger is absolutely correct, the hook must be mounted into the Stud. From looking at the hook you showed, better make sure that those top two holes are less than two inches apart or you will have to use a some sort of wood to attach the hook to, then attach the wood to the wall stud.

Here is a shot of how I did mine. I attached the hook to a wood plate then attached the wood plate to the wall with long wood screws.

The first picture was a random look-alike I found on the internet. Below is my hook, with my guitar on it.
The hook is mounted on a brick wall with 4 big screws, so I'm not worried about that. The thing that worries me is the hook joint (red circle) which is bolted in the arm, and has some free rotation in order to retain the guitar always in vertical position.

Looks pretty stout to me, I wouldn't worry. looks like a very secure mounts. It also looks like its got some nice thick padding on it, which is important.

I've been hanging guitars for years with no problems. I use the String Swing hangers and have never had one issue. Including when I had my 10+ pound LP Copy hanging. My Tele now resides in the hanger. Which is still solid.

GS, thanks...tidy...yep must be all those years in the AF that makes me want to line up and square everything in the Man Cave...or maybe just some OCD?

Cherokee 747...thanks, I am off of work tomorrow and plan to update my "Family Foto" since this one doesn't show the current batch of guitars...I have one Guitar Addition and one amp subtraction (a CAR 60's Classic Series Strat, and sold the Pro Jr.).
