Guys, just scored this Squier Pro Tone Strat off "Fleabay" for 300 clams. I had heard good things about this model. It has the see through blonde finish with ash body, but not sure if pickguard is original. It plays and sounds good, made in Korea in 1996. Did I do good?[img][/img]

For three bills, I'd say "yeah!".

I would change out that moto-copper pickguard for something more appropriate though -- tortoise-shell, mint green, or parchment.

Rawk on!

Congrats...I like the contrasting pickguard, even though it isn't vintage correct...

I believe the original was either an aged white or mint green. I have a mint green one on order, it has a mint green trem cover, hard to know if it is original though. Some brainiac used American pickup screws, which are wider, to install the pickups, thus making indentations in the covers, so I have new screws and covers coming also. Once thes are installed, this guitar will look great.[img]vvvv[/img]

Very nice score, and don't change that Copper color pickguard...it compliments that finish very nicely...and isn't like everyone elses with the tortoise color. Enjoy the guitar.
