I have to admit: I always change something(s) on everything. YMMV.

I have 20 electric guitars, so I won't bore you with every mod - I'd be here for the same number of pages..

I'm a lot better now. But when I think of the money I've spent on Seymour Duncan pickups and tusque nuts over the years, I start to twitch alarmingly.

Maybe I just buy better these days, but the last few purchases are still stock.

But I just know that my new Yamaha Pacifica (bought it cos I liked the colour) would be just awesome with 3 new pickups..

I can't bring myself to mess with perfection! I love my Teles just as they came from the Fender factory :)

I've modded a few of my MIM Strats, mostly putting in new loaded pickguards with upgraded pups - I like a humbucker at the bridge. My '94 AS Tele sunburst has been switched to a tortoise pickguard to resemble a Clarence White, but has Lace Sensor Gold & Red pickups in it, still like those a lot.

Most of my other guitars are pretty much stock, just slight upgrades on a few of them. As mentioned in previous posts, if I really like a guitar when I buy it, there's not much reason to mess with it. I've got a wide range of guitars, so ONE of them is going to please me no matter what sound I'm looking for.

I actually have not ever modded any of my guitars or amps or at least I have not yet. The only mod I have ever done any of the equipment I have owned has been on my tele and that was replacing the standard pick guard with a tortoise shell pick guard. I do plan on doing some sort of modification to my champ but i do not know what i will do yet :P

My KWS strat is the only stocker. I've modded 2 Squier '51s, built a DIY KWS clone starting with a Squier SE. Yeah, it's hard not to tinker with them... Image

I am fairly conservative for the most part, i will generally buy a guitar i like and keep it stock. There are a few exceptions (my hello kitty guitar i dropped in a really agressive pickup) and a grestch Jet Pro i bought was modded to hell before i got it. When ever i change anything i always keep the original stuff in labled boxed. I have seen and heard of some really outragous mods done to guitars and switches. So do you mod like crazy, do you change your guitar to better suit your needs or do you leave it stock?

I leave mine stock because as year go by and my guitar gets older it may become a collector and if someones trying to buy one they will most likely like a all stock Fender guitar.Mind you if I love the guitar I wont sell it but id still like its value overtime to increase and people go wow you have one of those. :)

American Vintage Jazzmaster pups on the '95 MIJ JM, an occasional new set of tuning machines on something, as necessary. Couple of knob upgrades. Chrome pup covers on an SG faded.

That's about it.

Tendency is very careful shopping and veritably no buyer's remorse, ever.

When I was a young puppy long before this interweb thingy was around I used to spend gadzillions of pesos on the latest aftermarket parts as advertised in Guitar Player magazine. I figured if I could change it ...lets see what it sounds like. Thank God for the interwebby now I can hear what all these things sound like without spending the money :D :D Now that I'm a crodetchy old fart I have curtailed most of my build a better mouse trap enthusiasm and don't buy an instrument unless I really like it and see no need to improve on any of its innards...the only modding I do now is to use parts found or traded for to make give away guitars for friends and loved ones

I swapped the stock humbucker in my HSS Strat out for a DiMarzio PAF Pro. I may upgrade the neck and middle pups later.

The only guitar I have done any heavy modding to is my Highway 1. I bought that guitar with the intentions to make it my own special guitar. Dimarzio SD in the bridge, locking tunners, white pearloid pickguard, "F" neck plate, and strap locks. Almost have it the way I want it.

As for the rest of my fenders, Locking tuners and strap locks are a personal preference of mine, and plastic pieces changed as I deem necessary. The electronics on my American Special and Blacktop are still 100% stock.

I do very little--I'm picky about a guitar before I buy it, so really it's my Les Paul copy--that was my first electric, before I knew too much, and my LP custom--that I got used & already modded.

Other than that, maybe cosmetic stuff.
Like on my Mustang--the volume & tone knobs are reversed--I probably did it by accident.
