This is the thing about Walter, IMHO: There are plenty of guys who can play "blues rock" - that is, they can play rock licks for days over a blues progression. But most of them are not really playing the blues. Walter understands the blues, he understands telling a story and building tension and release in his solos, he understands what notes to play when and where. And he absolutely, positively burns up the fretboard like nobody's business .
