First off, i know i sound like a broken record, but when I got to GC, i usually buy alot seeing as how its far out so:

I'm considering trading in my Boss DS-1 Distortion and a Dean M-10 10w guitar amp to get a Electro-Harmonix Classics USA Big Muff PI. My DS-1 just isnt pushing my amp like I need, and it kinda just coates my sound. Is this a good idea? Think this will be enough to trade in?

sounds like it to me. the big muff is a very good pedal. if your willing to give them an extra 20 bucks or so you should get the big muff with tone wicker.

I'd actually suggest keeping the DS-1 AND getting the Big Muff... if you set them right they can sound utterly badass together

As this writer hears, they give you about 25-30% of selling price for a perfect tradein.

You'd be much better off selling your gear privately than trading it in as GC really comes out the winner on trade in deals and give you just a small fraction of the true value. The Big Muff Pi is a great choice for a pedal though,I've had mine for 40 years without a hitch.

+1, if you want to know how much they'll give you, see how much they're selling used ones for, you'll get half of that.

Actually, there were too few. That was a bit of a sentence fragment.

You'll miss the DS-1. The Big muff Pi is too limited. I own both. Distortion should color and enrich your sound, not drench it.

Having said that I'll say this. What's your style?

Keep them both.

I had an original Big Muff back in the early 70's. Try Craigs List too. If you EBay it, put a reserve on it. Never, ever trade anything in unless you want to get smoked.
