The Precision uses the same Bill Lawrence-designed humbuckers used on the older USA Deluxes.

Unfortunately the Blacktops are only available with a rosewood fretboard and as a 4-string version. Also, the colour choices are very limited and the possibility to have more tonal options (series/parallel/out of phase) from an S1 switching system is missing.

But Brad, why are you posting on Mustang basses and Fender Tele's in the Mustang AMP forum?? Surely these should go in the appropriate Fender guitar forums??

Rich :?

What did you think it was ? you did'nt know it was a Squier then ? or did'nt know till now? Sorry but you will now have to go back and re-post everything you have written about your bass from the very first posting till now and put it all in the Squier section one at a time, its the law of the West Mr Josey Wales patink!!(me spitting in brass spitoon,I'm not kidding I chew skoal and I really spit in a snapple bottle,I'm all out of brass spitoons).
Before Fender re-did all of the Squier line I did my share of work on Squier's both Affinity(lower quality)and the Standard(better than but not much)and I had a customer who had 2 of the nicest NON Japanese/Korean Squier basses I ever saw, they were both Afinitty models, one p-bass and one jazzbass both 90's Indonesian made basses.
They both had highly flamed necks, regular tuning grears(opposed to the little cheesy enclosed type)both had quality fretwork, the rosewood fretboard on jazzbass was dark and warm and made from quality rosewood, the maple neck on precision had the snap and sharpness associated with un-finished hardrock maple and visually pleasing to look at as well.
I never would have believed it had I never saw it,There were no reasons for these basses to be this good,no mods were done(I do ALL his bass work)serial numbers located in the correct area(no replaced wood parts, body or neck)Fit and finish were excellent and for the 200.00$ cost, this was the deal of the century
BTW I never again saw a basses like these two before or since, could have been specially ordered by someone and lost or......? Goodluck with yours Mr Wales. spitink!

Nice, Rich -- LOL. :-) Trying this as an experiment to see if folks are interested in reading about new gear announcements regardless of whether they apply to the respective forum in question.

I'm not surprised they both come in black. What I'm surprised about is that they both come in pearl, instead of one coming in sunburst rosewood, like the Jag and Jazz BTs.
