+1

I like a lot of Zevon's stuff - sadly he's another artist I hadn't heard a lot of until after he'd died.

We do Werewolves of London in our live set - always goes down well.

(Except for the people who think we're going to play Sweet Home Alabama..)

Warren Zevon certainly was one of a kind and "Roland the Headless...."was a fabulous song definitely his best.

We had a gig the day Johnny Cash had died. John Ritter had died the same day, and Warren Zevon had died earlier that week.

We did "Ring of Fire" and "Folsom Prison Blues" (FPB ended up staying in the set list to perpituity), "Werewolves of London" and a punky blues version of the "Three's Company" theme song (we told everybody that the song was call "Jack Tripper's Blues").

Zevon was great. I don't know if it's anywhere on the 'net, but if you can find the last interview he did with David Letterman, it's hilarious, poignant and heart-wrenching all at the same time. He was strong, resolute and accepting that he was sick beyond help, yet he stayed positive. That's the way to face death.

Part 1 of the last Letterman interview is on youtube. There are links to the other parts on the same page.

I was doing some reading and found that Jackson Browne really supported Zevon in the beginning. Very interesting

8) Always loved Warren's stuff.....funny, when Kid Rock did that song a while ago..
about his younger years I thought he ripped-off WZ or LS............
Especially "Send Lawyers, Guns and Money". Listen to The Wallflowers version of it,
it's a harder edged tune but it's great..help me Warren or some such phrase in the tune...

Happy Birthday U.S.A.

Happy fourth to all...............
:D
