So recently I decided I needed a better pedalboard to protect and fit all of my pedals and such, so me and my youth minister decided to go out to the local good will and buy some suit cases. Mine cost me about four dollars

So Here's the steps involved in building a really cool pedalboard with lots of Mojo:

1- If your suitcase reeks as bad as mine did, TEAR out all of the lining. You wouldn't believe how smelly it was, and underneath was a thick layer of dirt... Give the shell a good couple of washes and let it dry out ( let some baking soda sit in there for a night or two)

2-Cut out a board (or boards) that will fit into the case snugly. I recommend using two boards and leaving a space in between them to run cords (pics of this are below). Make sure the boards fit nice enough so that when you close the case, it doesn't deform the overall shape of the case and make it impossible to close.

3- Secure the board in the case with screws. This is where things might be different depending on the suitcase. Mine had a metal strip where I was going to place screws, so I had to do some drilling first. Make sure the board is sturdy and connected well to the case.

4- cover the board with a protective/aesthetic covering. I decided to go with checkered duct tape, but you can use anything really (if you want to put a poly or spray paint coat, I advise you not to do it when the board is secure in the case)

5- Make Hinges removable: I made brand new hinges out of a coat hanger that I can remove anytime I want, so that way I can take the top off.

6- Secure your pedals in power supply. I used velcro, but its your preference...

Something thats a big space saver and cleans up clutter is to leave space underneath to run power cords. Yours can even run the input cables from pedal to pedals...

THE FINISHED PRODUCT:

LMFAO!

Nice job recycling a castaway piece of crap into something eminently usable.

haha thanks guys. That old homeless ladies underwear would NOT go away... First I washed it with soap & water, then I did a wash with bleach, then another with industrial strength soap, then finally some baking soda and some febreeze (which now makes it smell like and old lady...)

haha do you know what I just thought about that could give it some serious mojo? Hang up one of those pine tree air fresheners for your car on the inside, and maybe hang up some fuzzy dice too...
