Cool lick. Thanks. You said it worked well over an A7. Did you derive it from mixolydian with some chromatic steps?

Its funny I never really realized it but when I started off I always "alter-picked."

It never crossed my mind that some players just learned to pick by downstrokes...


I'm trying to get some hybrid picking down...

I used to live for alt picking. Now I hybrid pick. I have to focus on alt picking when running scales if I want to use it. Otherwise, every time I go down a string it is a down-stroke etc.. I've herd it called economy picking also. It is really not something I practiced, it just happened. Some people say that up-strokes and down-strokes produce different tone or attack but I don't pay much attention to that.
