im looking at getting a set of 15" 600 watt fanes, anybody have any bad experiences with fane speakers?

I had a Fane in my old Hiwatt and if it could take the abuse of power that those Hiwatts could produce it should hold up. The tone was good somewhat like a cross between a celestion greenback and an eminence. It was not quick to distort and breakup occurred much later than the celestions. However, that was in the late seventies, not sure about the newer ones, unless you getting an old set.

its a fairly old set (not from the seventies) they r from the 90's look good though, im always carefull when buying second hand speakers... u never know what the last owner put them through...

their new speakers look nice...

Well I can at least say, I haven't heard anything negative about them and from the ad sure does seem well made...what are you planning to use them in and for what type of music, etc.,

they are pa speakers, i play blues and jazz so they should stand up to that fine...

Had a pair of 12" ones in a cab in the sixties, they lasted a week before I scrapped them (they distorted like mad even on moderate volumes) and replaced them with goodmans audium 61's . They will no doubt have improved by now. Ted
