So my prized baby (also my only Fender :P ) has a big 'ole scratch on the back. Now normally I would say, "Sweet, it's getting a road worn look!" While that would be cool, my guitar has a special finish with flames and I really don't want to ruin that as I can't just get another one. Luckily it's not on the flames, but rather on the back on the black. It's semi-shallow to medium scratch, but it's bright white. My questions are: How can I get this out? Can I do it myself (I'm 13 so probably not) ? If I can't do it myself, is it expensive to fix?

Any help is great! Thanks!

If you are not super picky and it is on the back of the guitar you could just take a black sharpie pen and Voila!! Unless you are playing guitar "ala" Jimi Hendrix style with your teeth nobody is gonna see it except you.If you scratched it all the way to where it is white, than its deep enough that it is now a repair that if you don't know what you are doing ,you shouldn't even attempt it.It could be quite expensive depending how gnarly the scratch is and if it is lacquer or poly...2 totally different finishes.I find lacquer much easier to fix than poly ...but that's me.A good repair guy could fill it and buff it out most likely for a relatively fair price.Sometimes these types of repairs require actually refinishing the entire thing to make it look right...it all depends on the complexity of the design and finish.Hope this helps.
I am seriously thinking about getting into doing guitar paint repair work and new painting and clearing of necks and bodies.Being a painting contractor has it's advantages :D
good luck bro

It is a poly finish. Sorry I didn't mention that  haha

If I really don't like it I might fix it but as far as I'm concerned it's not worth the money right now. I'm really saving up for either a Stratocoustic or a HH Blacktop Tele, I have yet to decide

As for the Sharpie idea, sorry but no. It's a good idea but I don't want to chance it 8)

Thanks guys! This entire board is extremely helpful!

The sharpie is not really a fix but mostly just to hide the white scratch if one didn't really care ,but obviously you do.The right way to fix it unfortunately is not the cheap way to fix it.It kinda sucks huh!! If it was my guitar and it was on the back,I would probably just live with it.The axe in your avatar looks killer and I would probably want it fixed right too.

I used the sharpie trick and then I put clear nail polish over it.it is barley noticeable,if you see it,your looking too hard.

I think the part that sucks most is that its probably my fault  I was looking at my stand and the part that is scratched on my guitar is right next to a part of the stand where the padding wasn't on completely and it probably scratched it. :(
Anyway I got it used and it has some weird circle shaped dent-like cracks along some of the edges so if I'm going to get it fix'd might as well fix those too!
Thanks guys!

If it's just a small area a good painter could just "spot in" on the scratch with paint-- or maybe wet sand and buff. Take it to someone who knows about that stuff. It may be easy to fix. If you have no experiance with finishes - don't mess with it.

I've seen really impressive scratch repair done with nail polish.

I'm not real sure about that, but I use to know this guy who had tons of the stuff. He claimed you could match almost any color because of all the different shades. Ijust let the dings fall as they may.
