I woke up this morning with an earworm that was driving me nuts.Although I knew the name of the song I didn't know the artist.I did a google search and tracked down the song on Youtube but can't find a recording of it.The song is called Diamonds and Gold and is by the Edmonton, AB. groud Willie and The Walkers.I tried my old reliables CD Universe and Amazon and can't find them. This song is not to be confused with the Tom Waits song of the same title and it is just a beautiful 60's soft rock song.
Can anyone please let me know of any other sources I can try as I have always loved this song and once I get a bad case of Earworm there's only one cure and that's to buy the song.Any western Canadian forum members remember this group? There's a photo of them on Youtube and their backline is filled with Fender gear.

I know that they're all over youtube but as far as I know you can't download a song from youtube or can you?I guess I could try i tunes or one of the pirate sites but where they're so obscure I figured that they might not have it.If I could get a good cover of the same song from another group that'd do.

That's the song alright thanks very much for taking the trouble to find it and get the link etc.Nevin.Since my computer skills are so limited I'm going to have to wait for Blinkers to drop over to try out his new pedal tomorrow.BTW Blinkers got the coolest overdrive pedal I've heard in ages yesterday,it's an original issue Danelectro Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive that they were made to take off the market because it was a direct copy of a Timmy's Overdrive boutique pedal. What a ripper of a pedal it is.He only paid $60 for it used in near mint condition.

Thanks Twelvebar-Wow oh Wow has his voice changed!!!!It's so rough and gravely now when back in the 60s he could've fit well into any of the British Invasion groups because his voice was so mellow and fresh.

GS, Bill Hardie wasn't the singer of W&W, he was a guitarist.
Willie MacCalder was the singer. i guess i should have specified in my earlier post. hardie is the only member I have any idea what they are up to.

As of three years ago Willie was living in North Van and Hosting various blues jams around Vancouver. Several members odf the Walkers ended up in another blues band from Vancouver called The Powder Blues Band (Thirsty Ears)

That's wild that they ended up with Powder Blues and kind of ironic because I loved Willie and the Walkers but was never very fond of Powder Blues. Thanks for the info.
