Actually, no. You are referring to "Short term memory loss."

Memory loss is more a symptom of getting old. You know, like when you go into a room and can't remember what you went there to get. I know I've done that and I'm pretty sure most people have. Also, I have a friend who smokes and he remembers everything - dates, names, songs, bands. I am always amazed at his recollection of minutae.

Guitslinger, good on ya for being a cool, responsible parent. I took that as being the important part of your post. Being the kind of parent that keeps the lines of communication open is what I try to do as well. That means being open minded and non-judgemental.

It's 2011 and time to lose the rhetoric surrounding pot.

I'm not trying to start anything with you CR, I guess I see your point now that you've explained it better. I don't agree with the attituded that "drugs make you a cool parent" since I think I do pretty well without that.

But that's not what I read into his original post. I think that finding out they were "cool" was an after the fact observation after they chose to light up with an adult child. It didn't seem to me that they lit up just to achieve that, if that makes sense.

And, IMO, to call someone's attitude or opinions "assinine" unless you really know them is a little heavy handed for my taste.

I'll say it again, if we all agreed on everything the world would be a pretty boring place.

The people who make weed a bad thing are the little jackasses running around malls ACTING stoned when 90% of the time they aren't. They act like complete morons and people go "OH NOES TEH DRUGZ R BAD 4 U!!!1!!1!!one!" when in reality, said kids are just idiots to begin with.

While on the topic of marijuana's negative effects, how bout one little effect most don't talk about, derealization and depersonalization, start out young enough or if you are frequent enough with it, you can become quickly and constantyl spaced out feeling separated from reality. Im only for legalization, just no one stops and thinks what happens after the fact when its legalized.

True but there are stories ive heard of where teens take like a few bong rips and have panic attacks, the potenization of marijuana can make it dangerous, especially for first timers seeing as how mid grade marijuana is slowly going away and only high grade sativa which leads to crazy mind highs or crappy dirt weed is increasing. Its either kids gettin super $@!&*% up or gettin ripped off

Where I live, there is an extremely casual attitude to marijuana. Usually on my way to and from work (across the top of a cliff along the coast), you can walk past at least one person smoking it. No one really bats an eyelid.

It's the most laid-back place I've ever lived, but nothing ever really gets done either.

Personally, I feel that it's a lot less destroying than alcohol. I've worked in pubs & bars for many years, and I see what alcohol does to people. They get embarrassing, violent and frequently lose their basic motor functions (most notably of their gag reflex and genitalia).

Having been both a user and observer of those who use marijuana, it seems a lot less damaging. There are, of course, exceptions. Not everyone who drinks is a wife-beating, child-shagging psychopath. And not everyone who smokes weed is a glazed, monosyllabic moron.

I just find it a bit odd that it's not legal. I've been to Amsterdam and smoked up there, it was a great atmosphere. They have a very different mentality over there though.

In My opinion the most important point to be made here is that, all parties were ADULTS. and have the right to make there own choices. whether or not they were related has nothing to do with anything. I think we all agree that what they chose to do was illegal. And as for being COOL, what is cool to me is not necessarily cool to you, nor shold it be. As for being right or wrong. Breaking the LAW is wrong, but not IMMORAL. Will they go down in SMOKE for what have done? It's not for us to judge.

I cannot for the life of me imagine being in excruciating pain and smoking weed ......It would just intesify the pain in every way .....Maybe for people who have never smoked dope and it knocks there head clean off their shoulders..... I cannot for the life of me understand why people can sincerely justify wanting to leagilze weed because of medical application Load of absolute crap...... So you just work up from major surgery your in agony like you never felt before and the nurse says here man toke on this???? Baaaa Haaa So now your in agony, High, Paronid, Have acute Anxiety and feel sick. That's just hilarious and a completely insane concept for anyone to digest.
