I read today onanother musician's forum that the guitarist's guitarist Glen Campbell has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. What a tragic malady to be visited on a man who has battled many demons during his lifetime including a huge drinking problem. As many of you know,Glen first made a name for himself as part of the Wrecking Crew and has played on countless hits by people as diverse as Fank and Nancy Sinatra,Dean Martin,Gary Lewis,The Monkees and many others. He was regarded as being at the top of the heap when it came to studio musicians.

I watched helplessly for a period of 3 months as my mother died of a rapid onset form of Alzheimers and I pray that Glen Campbell still has some quality time left before this terrible disease takes its final toll on him.I hope that everyone says a prayer for this fine musician.

Bad break for Glen C. I always like hearing his songs, and his playing. We always watched his TV show also. A nod and a prayer for Glen Campbell.

Death gets us all, sooner or later.

I wanna go quick, in my sleep.

Witchitaw Lineman- great song. That was in the middle 60's. Yeh he played for the Beach Boys also for awhile. Then for the longest time I didn't hear much about him. Then the drinking problem and the mug shot. That was sad. Booze is not good for you.

That is really sad to hear..alzheimer's is one of those things I wouldn't wish on anybody. I guess the real bummer part is that I heard an interview with Tanya Tucker a little while ago and she was saying how he had really turned his life around and had mellowed out in the last few years. Hopefully they can keep it at bay for a few years. Best wishes and prayers for you GC.

:) Sometimes folks can go on for years, with all the new medications and treatment. I once heard in an interview: The Great "Tanya Tucker", say that "Glen Campbell" was the horniest man she ever met. There must be more to him than just being a fine Musician. I'm sure that when that final time comes, Mr. Campbell will be remembered as one of the all time greats. I think my first recollection of him was on a TV show called "SHINDIG" Remembe . :)
