I'm still sitting here at work and figured may as well see what everybody else's number one gripe about their job is.

#1 gripe: Everybody around me and above me is a "yes" man, excuse me... "yes" person (hope I did not offend anybody). UNfortunately, "yes" is usually the wrong answer in the grand scheme of things around here. Oh well, it's Friday!

Hope everyone has a great Fender-filled weekend!

I work at the campus bookstore, and it surprises, yet scares me since these kids will one day run the country, that 6 weeks, or nearly 40% of the way through the semester, at least a dozen kids have come into the store this week saying that they did not realize they had the wrong textbook for a class until now. How the hell do you go to classes for 6 weeks and not realize that you don't have the same book that your teacher and/or classmates are using? Thats my first gripe.

My second is when someone wants to sell back a textbook, and we only give them 35% or less (usually less) than what they paid for it. They immediately say how they paid whatever for it...who cares what you paid for it then, thats not what we're offering now. If you buy a brand new car, take it 5 yards down the road, then turn around and sell it back to them, they are not going to give you what you paid for it, and you'll be lucky if they give you 40% of what you paid for it just minutes ago...

Remember that if you ever try to sell a guitar back to a Music Store.

Here's a good quote by Kurt Vonnegut. Just replace "high school" with "college"

"True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country."
-Kurt Vonnegut

Amen to that! That's why I rarely buy a new unused guitar.

I work in State government. They are as thick skulled as the Feds! I deal with people that don't understand the concept of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"!

Vonnegut was brilliant. He really made my teenage years. Now he's unstuck in time. So it goes.
