it could be what ever you want... a music style, stylin clothes people used, a piece of gear, a guitar part, an album, a famous person, a brand, a band... just let it out!!!

here's my opinion:

brands: line 6 (too much modulation even the guitars are digital), emg (i hated these guys more than i do now... i like the new open passive humbuckers (sro series) they're amazing), steinberger...

bands: ac/dc, guns n roses, muse, dragon force

people: slash, angus young, axl rose (he's cocky), matt bellamy

music style: the indie scene, progressive rock stuff that sounds spacey, death metal (i like metal but some songs have no apparent meaning), songs that show only tecnique and no feeling nor good sound...

clothes: flourescent coloured pants, huge baggy checkered shirts used like jackets (extremely exagerated from the 90's grunge scene), ear expanders, body implants, katy perry's tuxedo/bride gown thing, lady gaga's meat dress (the last 2 i just had to mention   )

In music and other entertainment, the use of the words, Star, and Superstar. The terms are thrown around and used for most who are so non deserving of it. The End.

Well,I'm not going to listen to anybody who can't carry a tune in a bucket,or makes a guitar sound like somebody is killing a cat....that stirs my emotions and not in a good way.
Music should be something that is enjoyable to the listener....so I disagree.
So in other words...I do ask for more good music.

Overrated? This one's easy...Punk music in general I hate; I don't understand the thought behind learning to play guitar, but intentionally playing as sloppy as possible, and I hate hearing a bunch of grown men whining about not wanting to listen to mommy and daddy.
Nirvana...I just hate Nirvana, can't say why, but they just never did it for me.
I think John Frusciante is the MOST overrated guitarist; but I do love the chili peppers, Frusciante is just nothing special as a guitarist. I'm sure there's a lot more, but that's the first things that come to mind.

 Sacrilege!

Tone is everything! If a guy has good tone, I don't care how technically poor of a player he is...

Vintage instruments and amps are over rated.

Some are good, some are great, some suck...just like nowadays!
