Interesting - - I recall my first Thomas Organ works Cry Baby pedal. I was accused by the band of using it too much and they were right. I did like the way it sounded back in the day. These days I seldom use a wah.

Yeah Mike, I'm the same way. I rarely use mine today. In the 70's I think I was wearing my ankle out LOL. I still won't cover "Voodoo Chile" today because it's so overdone by every band on the planet. Some better than others. It just bores me.

I signed up to the Dunlop email list and saw that video months ago.It is quite interesting.I have 2 Italian made wah wah pedals from the 60s-a Vox Clyde McCoy and a Jen Cry Baby wah.The sound and performance of the originals is very different from their contemporary pedals yet Vox comes closer to nailing the traditional tone. From what I've heard of the new Dungplops they can't hold a candle to the originals. The Zak Wylde is a disappointment for me although I can see it maybe appealing to the shredder/metal types.

I know the video's been around for a while. There's been some threads about wah's lately so I figure I'd toss it out. It's still the most over used and popular effect around. I use it more alone than in a band situation. I only have a basic Dunlop Crybaby and a 70's Fender Fuzz Wah that I pull out from time to time. Like I said, it's not all that important to me and I rarely use it.

Back when I was gigging the wah was just about indispensable for me as we did quite a few Hendrix covers and the wah was an integral part to a lot of his songs and lead breaks.

My first one was from a company called Alex. It was decent. I even built an EH Muff Fuzz into the case.

T2Stratman if it's like Deja Vu why respond? Doesn't that make it Vuja De?

Supro please up the value of the input capacitor on that Dunlop wah. Just give it a go, muck about with a few different values. It really makes a difference to the sound and may rejuvenate your love for the wah.
And in the process cause you to walk a bit funny too

Thanks for the vid link.

Yeah, Niki, I like to tinker I may just do that. The Fender Fuzz Wah is an interesting beast. It's the giant cast aluminum job with the three dial wheels on top. The fuzz in that thing is crazy. All transistor no IC's in sight.
