when i saw this ad....i m so dispint from this.
and they say: 琴头(headstock) 1964 STRAT标准琴头(1964 start standar headstock)
i m very angry,they spell "start" not "strat" ....and i dont know why is 1964 headstock not 1954???

Chill bro, it's just the POS starcaster line. Hell, it may not even be the starcasters, they could just be fakes (China is notorious for fake instruments). They still make Fenders in America and Mexico, and in some cases Japan.

Well, since I honestly have no damn clue what you're saying at this point, I'll just say the VAST majority of Fender's instruments are made in the US or Mexico, with some (and my personal favorites) being made in Japan. China is the s****y starter pack guitars and mostly fakes, most Squiers as well, IIRC.

i would say if fender made this product in china like they say.
it will be shame of fender.

They've been making Chinese guitars for years, but THEY STILL MAKE MOST IN AMERICA OR MEXICO.

i love fender made in usa, i like fender histroy,
maybe i love fender is a way to lern america.
even fender mia in china is very high prices,but i still love it,
and i will buy more fender guitars.

I blinked, what just happen?

well squires have been made in china for a few years as well as a good portion of fender acoustics...I had a fender metal body resonator three years ago that was made in china and it was a fine instrument (so fine some scumbag stole it out of my van one night!) come to think of it a large portion of FMIC's other brands like Gretsch and Guild have a large part of their lines made in china. so it wouldn't surprise me at all that in a few years from now the standard stratocaster and telecaster will no longer be made in mexico but you guessed it china....after all there are those of you who think that music is a business...and if thats the case the prevailing business model is cheap parts cheap labor ect ect. ( I sure do hope Im wrong, but as along as I've lived I've learned that those who put business before anything else usually find a way to justify stuffing it to loyal supporters and patrons...take a look at the banks....)

China is a large emerging consumer market. Quite a few brands have some of their guitars made in China. The link above the ad in the original post will take you to an AXL brand Chinese website. If you use Google translate you can navigate around the site . There is an interesting set of pictures showing a delegation (supposedly) from Fender touring the AXL factory. In one of the pictures you can see Fender branded guitar straps. Some of the acoustics look like the Sonoran series, and one picture shows a delegate holding a (Strat like object) routed body in production.

I'm sure that some of the Squire series products are made in China. It would make sense for Fender to carve out a position in the domestic Chinese market.

I wonder if Brad Traweek speaks Chinese??? or is there a Chinese Brad Traweek and do we owe him any money?

I've also got Fender guitars made in Korea and Indonesia. My "Chinese" Fender (Squier) guitars are superbly crafted. And were very reasonably priced.
