As an older beginner (52) I wanted to do something I have wanted to do since I was a young kid. Play guitar, so being a bit of a tech head I used YouTube to see what kind of guitar would be best for the music i wanted to learn (Blues). And from all the video's i hear and saw everyone playing fender strats. So off I go to my local music store and buy myself a Fender Road Worn Strat and signed up for lessons. Ok now i have this guitar now what?

So doing the google thing I come across this forum site, and I think OK there will be posting from allot of kids and allot of dribble. Man was I wrong. You guys and girls are just freakin amazing. The information I have gotten has give my brain an over load, you people touch base on everything. From what to buy in guitars what to fix and ad to amps (which buy the way i got a GDEC 3-30 Blues). I am on here more then facebook and given myself a headache more then once.
The videos of some of you playing is awesome, and hope before i get to old to hold this thing I can come close to playing like you people.

I have come to see this like a family, so Thanks for all the posts and the info within this forum and i hope to be a member for many more years to come.

Brent

Brent, welcome aboard. I'm no dummy when it comes to guitars and amps, but I have learned A LOT hanging around on this board. There are some "old timers" on this Forum who have really expanded my mind when it comes to making music. You can learn a lot just by reading and checking links and when it comes to guitars and amps and playing, there is no such thing as a "stupid" question.

And I'm happy to see that you bought yourself a G-DEC 3-Thirty amp, Blues Version. That amp should really help you with practice and encourage you to keep pushing yourself. I have been using G-DECs since late '07 and currently own a bunch of them, in both old G-DEC 30 and new G-DEC 3 Thirty versions. There's a special Forum on here just for the new G-DECs, so be sure to check in there, too.

Now get back to working those fingers!

I very much enjoy being a part of this forum. I've been coming here off and one over the last couple years, and I've learned an awful lot from the folks who post here. It's also a very polite and civilized place to hang out, especially compared to lots of other message boards on the web. Glad you're enjoying your time here!
