I was in Best Buy the other day looking to fill in some Brian Setzer gaps in the CD collection and noticed the newly released AC/DC Let There Be Rock DVD chronicling their 1979 tour and the concert in Paris, part of Bon Scott's last trip around the world. I bought it, of course, as I own everything else ever released by AC/DC and thought this would be an interesting addition.

The beauty of the DVD is the fact that it's in 1979 - crappy stage, no wireless, genuine feedback, fake snakes and happily, this is after the boys all got their teeth fixed! I have always enjoyed AC/DC and though I am pushing toward Social Security I bought tickets for my son and me for the recent Black Ice Tour when it rolled into Target Center in St. Paul, MN, a year or so ago. Now that was a concert!

After recently viewing the AC/DC concert Live At River Plate, it was very interesting to go back thirty years to when it was all first coming together. I enjoyed the backstage conversations (though a little hard to decipher with the Aussie accent and a reluctance to enunciate) and the interviews with then young members of AC/DC. I bought a second copy today for my son.
