My favorite TV show is Hee Haw. Sunday nights on RFD. Lots of good old country acts, from the old days. Can't never get enough Sunshine! (Lisa Todd)

Travis Tritt is fairly new and plays "real" country. Vince Gill has been around for awhile but sings good country.I guess like you,I still like Waylon,Willy and Hank Jr. I don`t care much for the new stuff, not country enough. Not enough twang.

Josh Turner, Eric Church and Zac Brown are some of the best newer country guys I like.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Dwight Yoakam and his long time lead player Pete Anderson, probably my modern favorites. Give them a listen....

Also love Vince Gill and Alan Jackson.

I had forgotten him, Dwight, Yoakam, and your right he is one of those truly gifted performers than can reproduce almost any sound he wants, I need to pay closer attention to his stuff. :)

Yeah, Travis Tritt's a good one too...I remember going to a concert back when he was on his 'no hats' tour back when I was a kid. Travis always put put good music, and his voice was/is perfect for country.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, especially JR. Brown, that dude is awesome.

There's a Canadian country artist who stays true to the old country style and his name is Corb Lund.He and his band-The Hurtin' Albertans play with the same zeal and passion as the Grand Old Opry crowd used to.His first CD-Horse Soldier,Horse Soldier was inspired by the American Civil War and contains many songs-including the title track-dealing with events during that war. This CD would be of great interest to country fans south of the Canada U.S. border who are Civil War buffs and for anyone else who loves pure unaldulterated country.I was never a big country fan especially this new pseudo country/pop garbage of Taylor Swift et al but Corb Lund breaks the mold when it comes to country and sticks with the original purpose of it-to tell a story of real people from the heart.

Hay, guitslinger: That Corb Lund definitely brings a lot of the old feeling into his music. Thanks for sharing. :)
