guys i'm looking for a versatile wah pedal... something that'll give me my own wah sound perferably an analog pedal... along modulation pedals i found the "rocktron black cat moan" which is a pretty awesome pedal and has this cool moan effect... what do you guys think of the pedal? any other suggestions?

If you're prepared to spend a few extra bucks the Fulltone Clyde and the Geoff Teese RMC Picture Wahs are about the best on the market to get the authentic old style 60's Vox "vomit/bark"wah sound from the late 60s that most people love.

i like the zakk wylde pedal. everything is controlable,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMPzL7gZROI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy7-Cao9 ... re=related

you can control how far your wah "cracks" in either direction,
more trebble, more bass, and you can control how sensitive
the pedal is to touch, which has ALWAYS been a major complaint
of mine with any wah pedal.

just my opinion here, but this is the best wah pedal to hit the market
in a very long time.

My buddy just picked up a used Zak Wylde pedal for $50 and although it could appeal to some the wah is too sudden and mid heavy to my liking,I much prefer the Vox 846 and 847 pedals as they have a much broader and classic range. The Z.W. would be great for those who are metal oriented.

i know a lot of people dont like BOSS pedals bt the V-wah PW-10 is the most versatile wah ive used, has a couple of memories and you can pretty much make it sound like whatever you want... its not analog... bt its pretty good ( i use a crybaby so dont tune me becuase i have a BOSS wah as well 8) )

If you want a great wah, go with the Vox...the Boss is not bad, the Dunlop is also good, but if you want a great one go with the Vox.

What do you mean by versatile wah?
They either sound good or they don't. In my experience the more switches they have on em, the worse they sound.

It's got far more to do with how you use it, than the nonsense manufacturers put on the box.

Just buy the best quality wah you can afford and get foot rocking.

This is worth watching.

Use google translate to translate it from Italian. Those sell for £200 all day long. I just sold mine for £210. The one listed is a 1973 (red fasel) mine was a 67. Jen only made those for two years in the 60's and two years in the seventies. Making them exceptionally easy to date. The Jen and Thomas Organ wah's are the pedal all those others are trying to be.
Being as though you're in Portugal, those old Italian Jen's are likely ten a penny for you.
If you are prepared to pay shipping from the UK, there are a few bargains here

I have an original Jen Italian made Cry Baby and the difference between that and the new ones is just astounding-they're no more alike than a Aveo is like a Bentley.

Just lately (past month) I've noticed a sharp decline in the prices vintage gear sells for.
You can pick up a original (real original not dunlop) crybaby for less than you can buy the dunlop for.

Trust me, I regularly watch Wah's on ebay (sad act eh?).
You can put in a bid and be quite safe that no one else will bid on it at the moment.

I guess I'm not Helping things any, but rather adding to the question. I have 2 "WAH's" one old Dunlopp and one Line6 that came with my amp neather are comfortable to use. is there a beter choice from that standpoint (Comfort and Easability) of use. :)

Like NikiNinja said it is not about being versitile it's about tone...mine is the Vox847 with the chrome pedal...very well made and great tone.

I upped the input capacitor to 0.1uf on a Vox 487. Then gave it to a bassist that I was in a band with. Cos he's a really nice guy.
Anyways, that mod made that wah. Loads of thick bass on the heel down. A good load of volume boost when the wah was engaged.
Ideal for bass and great for guitar.

Even the best Wah's can be made better. I don't for one second believe that Hendrix didn't have Mayer mod his Wah's. Or Clapton have some one do similar. Even if it was just rolling the pot backwards or forwards along the treadle.
