+1 Bender, "Maximum Overdrive" has to be one of the best soundtracks ever.

I also liked "Top Gun" and "Stand By Me".

Probably "Pretty in Pink," although "Top Gun" (both the movie and the soundtrack) remains a guilty pleasure...

Top gun shouldn't be a guilty pleasure... That soundtrack has some very well respected artists on it... Those who disagree should take a second look at what is on that album...

It's a good summertime album! 8) I always liked the short guitar solo on Marietta's "Destination Unknown." I have no idea who played it, though.

Definitely "Fast Times". Each tune is killer and the opening scene with "We Got The Beat". What's more 80's than that!

Maximum Overdrive

The "Crossroads" soundtrack album wasn't as good as the actual score of the movie (there's a big difference between the soundtrack and the score of any movie), but overall, it was still pretty good.

I mostly hated a good 75% of eighties music, but there were a few gems out there...

These are two of my favorite movies, let alone the soundtracks.

And another +1 to Solid Body for Streets Of Fire - fabulous recording and I love those live shots of The Blasters!
One Bad Stud indeed!!

Funny about 1/2 of the responses are for music made in the 80's...but not what I would call quintessential (spelling?) 80's music....

Valid responses of course... Just not what I was expecting...
