Come to London, July 2011. There's a bit of a get together going on. If we all bring a guitar, it could be the first international jam. England, Germany, USA and now Canada represented too. I won't belittle that idea by trying to express with words how good it is.

If I bring a guitar, you will likely give me food and probably even your firstborn to just go away.

That will be London's gain I'm sure.

The branch of Guitar Guitar in my home town (Birmingham) is a great place to visit. Just leave your credit card at home! I see that Niki has already been there..

They've already had some of my money - my OCD pedal came from there, as well as my most recent guitar purchase (a really nice PRS SE Custom 24 in 3 colour sunburst, the new one with Birds..) At one point I was seriously considering a Gibson ES339, but it was nearly 3 times the price of the SE, so it stayed in the shop. A rare moment of sanity!

They also sold my collaborator buddy a 2nd hand Les Paul Std at a very reasonable price.

Hi Snowy, so nice to see you round the place! :D

GuitarGuitar coming to London - though only just!

http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/london_shop.asp

I didn't even know where a KT postcode was. Epsom, apparently. That's halfway to Brighton. Literally!

Opening this Saturday, it seems. I may give that event a miss, but I'll pop down there sometime soon for a look-see and let you all know how it is. Presumably a non-central location also means big premises! Yum.

Regarding this famous international get-together: I keep hearing that I'm in on it - but nobody has told me when and where...?!? Those who need to know how to find me via email or Facebook. Gimme a heads-up, guys! 8)

Cheers, all - C

Sorry this isn't Clash related  just a heads up for our members in and around London. Guitarguitar are opening a branch in the big smoke, they're big on Fender gear 8) From what I can gather, they have an area in the store for Custom Shop gear. It will be well worth a visit, if nothing else. I often go in to the Glasgow store, just to drool  Opens 18th June, give me a shout if you manage in. This isn't an advert, I don't work for them or anything. But I have dealt with them in the past, nice people to deal with. Their prices are usually decent too 8)

Nice one Snowy!

I'm looking to try out the new Blackstar HT-5R Mini stack. GAK (my local) don't stock them so and may well pop up and see what they have to offer.

Cheers!

Andy

Ceri, Nick didn't talk to you about it? I'm arriving in London the evening of July 7th and will be staying with friends, but I'm going to be meeting nick for something, so we thought it would be a great idea to all meet for a drink or two, or perhaps dinner. I'm not sure of the date yet as my plns are still in the air re: my friends and what they want to do.

Serge

Hi Serge: just saw this. Name the time and place. I shall be there! Drinks are on me. 8)

Cheers - C

EDIT: just checking the diary. Hmm: Friday 8 onward for the next week we're supposed to be at the other end of the country. But worry not: I shall drive for ten hours to be there. The more notice the better though, if you could. Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 July I absolutely can't do. Away for Mrs C's birthday treat. So not those days, please.

Well chaps if there's still a seat free at the big table, I'd happily join if I may! To get the most out of Serge, we should probably all meet ona racecourse somewhere and have a go-cart race!

Anyway, good to hear you're packing! See ya soon, perhaps!

Cheers

Nutter

HOLY CRAP - now that's a thought. What about one of those packages where you pay to drive a Lotus Esprit or an Aston-Martin or some such around a race track, such as Brands Hatch or Silverstone?

http://www.brandshatchcircuit.co.uk/

http://www.silverstone.co.uk/

Click on words such as "experience" on those pages to find out more.

I don't need to drive a race car myself - I just want to be there to watch Serge do it, while the rest of us guzzle beer.

You're cooking on gas today, young Nutter! 8)

Cheers - C

Why thank you, Ceri! Same goes to you - I hadn't even thought as far as Silverstone! :)

I don't think we could hijack The Stig for a few rounds? :D

I believe it's how he earns his bread and butter.

For a birthday once my brother-in-law took a DB7 on several laps of a race track somewhere. He was trying so hard to look cool about it - but you could see he was wetting his undies with joy. And very many years ago I once drove a Lotus Esprit (not on a track): 0-60 in 3.5 in first gear, and yes, that car really does corner on rails, like Julia Roberts said.

But I suspect Serge needs something a little higher octane than a mere road car. I seem to recall that there are also packages where you can drive a Formula One car round Silverstone - that would be more his cup of tea, I'd have thought?

Cheers - C

This thread has more twists and turns than a race track  Ceri, I should have researched the location before posting. My sincere apple oggies bro, thanks for putting the record straight. It's great to see you guys all getting together, I'm sure you will all have great time in London. Remember pix guys 8) or it didn't happen
