I've owned Fenders for the best of part 9 years now (got my first when I was 13), and I felt like it was time to return to the nest as I've gone totally Strat-doolally again.

So... hi!

And here are some of the axes I have owned. The Fendery ones anyway. If people want others, then ask!

Image

2001 American Deluxe HSS Strat - changed significantly. DiMarzio Cruiser at the neck, DiMarzio Super Distortion SC in the middle and DiMarzio D-Sonic at the bridge. Blacked out pretty much all the hardware that I could, popped GraphTechs on... it's a real beast.

Image

1999 Lone Star. This is pretty much stock, apart from Sperzels at the top. Still not decided whether I'll keep him or not!

Image

Blast from the past- American Deluxe before he was taken to pieces for a few years, my old 2004 American Deluxe Telecaster FMT HH and one of the first Highway 1 HSSs.

Apart from that....

Image

2004 Telecaster Lite Ash. This was a humungous, weighty turd that I was glad to see the back of.

Image

1996 Custom Shop Prosonic, in Seafoam Green. I still have this, and I am never letting it go.

Image

1965 Twin Reverb. Original '65. Miss it lots. :(

Anyhoo... thought I'd sign up just because I have never been here before and I've got a few things incoming that will need input and a little help.

Hi! :D

Didn't like the Lite Ash eh? That's unusual they mostly get glowing reports from their owners.
What didn't you like about it? Weight can be a problem, my Baja tele weighs just less than a Volvo 740.
Anyway, ask away, were all happy to help.

Put simply, it would have been extremely difficult and/or extremely expensive to put right.

I bought one after a friend got a Lite Ash Strat, which is an incredible guitar for the money. Seriously amazing spec.

This Tele had the bridge out, as in it was angled really badly. The saddles ate strings, then changed to GraphTechs, upon which the back of the bridge started eating strings, then I had trouble with choking frets caused by serious raised frets... so I dressed the frets... but it still wasn't quite right. Strings snapped at the trees (bear in mind the last time I actually broke a string through abuse when about 5/6 years ago), so I changed to GraphTech trees too... it never held tune very well, even if I stretched the strings properly. I just could never trust it. Looked brilliant, sounded amazing (changed the pickups for Quarter Pounders), played like crap!

Thanks for the welcomes. More pics coming soon. I have an EMG-loaded Japanese Strat body on its way to me, and soon the 2005 None More Black HSS Strat that some of you have already seen... it's going to be an interesting summer!

Hi Vlad, welcome to the forum.I had a black ash Strat and it was like strapping on 2 Les Pauls-so heavy I had to get rid of it.

Welcome Vlad!

I'm a masochistic freak - I love heavy guitars, though I used to be 6'2" and now I'm just 6' and I tend to lean a bit to the right these days.

I have several solid ash guitars, Fender and otherwise, but I love them all.

Nice gear.

Cheers again folks!

The Tele actually didn't weigh that much. But as it was a lump of poop, it weighed enough..!

Next time I'll be going straight for American Deluxe realms if I go Tele again. Can't see it happening though.

CR- kind of like the hunchback of Notre Dame?

Danny- one day. The home of grunge beckons to me. Plus I should be used to the weather. It rains a lot here too...

Call me Sam for short. VSOC is just a slightly humourous nickname.
