On tomorrow, 14 June, 2011, The Fabulous Thunderbirds 'Best of the Fabulous Thunderbirds: Early Birds Special' will be released http://www.amazon.com/Best-Fabulous-Thunderbirds-Early-Special/dp/B004QSQLSC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1307980290&sr=8-6.

I was extremely fortunate to see the original ‘The Fabulous Thunderbirds’ back in the early ‘80s at Gilly’s http://www.gillysjazz.com/ in Dayton, OH. The first time they played, there was maybe 10 people in the club, but they still put on a great show. It was there that Jimmie Vaughan told me about his ‘little’ brother.

Even though I called Primetime a ‘Chicago Style’ blues band, I patterned the band after the T-Birds.

The T-Birds are a huge influence on me and my band. Since I play both guitar and harp, the esteemed monsieurs Vaughan and Wilson have both had a huge impact only playing.

It looks like I already have all of these tracks on other CDs, but this might have to be acquired for collection purposes...

There really hasn't been a bad guitarist in the bunch...Duke and Kid Bangham (whatever happened to him?) and Kid Ramos and Kirk Fletcher and Nick Curran and Mike Keller and Johnny Moeller are all excellent intheir own right.

...and don't forget. Doyle Bramhall II was second chair guitarist during the last tour with Jimmie! 8)

Yeah, Dave is a killer axe-man, vastly underrated and criminally overlooked...

Different Tacos is a great disc; do you have "Tacos Deluxe"? It's got some cool tracks (some live) not to be found anywhere else...

Kid Ramos is a smokin player. Saw him with the group in 1996. Great show.

Used to see Kid Ramos play with the James Harmon Band at the White House in Laguna Beach, Ca. He seemed to always play what a song needed very much like Jimmie Vaughn. :)
