Any Mac/Garageband users out there? I've done some basic noodling with Garageband and was looking for some tips on Amp settings. Is there a way to set up Fender sounding amps? Hot Rod and Blues Deluxe in particular. Any other tips would be appreciated too...

I like to use Amplitube for digital amp modeling - you can use it stand alone or as a plugin with G'band :D

you could just use a direct line in to the computer.... its what i use, i use a 1/4" to 1/8" inch converter to the back of my mac G5, then pretty much just adjust the amp settings and everything in garageband itself.... i would mic my amp, but i don't have a very efficient mic at the moment

Yep, that's what I do now too, plug straight in. What I'm looking for are settings to dial in a particular amp model inside Garageband. So, instead of "Arena Rock" as a preset I'd like to be able to pick from a list of amps like Hot Rod, Blackface, Tweed, Marshall, etc.

click the details tab under the choices of arena rock, etc and you can adjust quite a few effects and such under there to customize your sound if you already didn't know that

GarageBand offers a lot in features, and you just need to play around with the equalizer and tones, as well as the effects that Citizenerased mentioned. There are many settings this program has to offer that are not mentioned in the catalog.
