What 's with the dolphin-street stuff ? This guy is clearly trying to market his merchandise. There are a million of his kind on YouTube and that is where they belong. next thing you know the forum will be full of For Sale Sines. I cant speak for any one but myself, but I can see it coming. Is that what we want :?:

I agree. I can't market my business on here. The lessons are fine but now the link is bringing Pay Pal into it. Just a link to the video would be fine IMO.

I just listen to the music, which is okay for me, it kinda adds variety into the forum.
But if we get flooded with this kind of thing it could become a problem I suppose.

He has a direct link to his pay site and store. I can't do it with my business and neither should he.
His lessons are helpful to some, but the forum will eventually turn into a guitar lesson spam fest real fast.

I think the free instruction is cool but when the guy starts ofering discounts and Pay Pall deals that's not ok with me.

Robert is a Fender Forum member, and just as on his youtube channel, his lessons are simple enough that even the beginner can benefit from them. Youtube is free. I have a channel there myself. I'm not selling anything but I have some of my bands videos there. I don't think you have to purchase anything from "dolphinstreet" just enjoy the videos if you wish to do so. If not, there are other learning videos that you may find more useful by other posters.

I like his "how-tos'"...Nothing to pressure you to buy anything either here or on his web page. If it got to the point that I thought he was hawking his stuff here then I'd hit the old :!: to report him to Brad, the Forum Moderator.

If making reference to pay pall and the use of the word discount and store aren't hawking his stuff what is it? The only hawking that should be done if any is for Fender products and even that is kept to a minimum. :!:

-----Danny,

If you feel uncomfortable watching his videos then don't watch Danny. Starting controversy with another Forum member is unsportsman like conduct. If you can post an instructional video you have done that represents a better attitude, feel free to show us the way Danny.

Look at his sig line. Click on it and you'll see what I mean. I have no problem with him if he gets rid of his pay pay address. I can't link to my photography business in my sig line. Everyone here would be calling it spam. But because it's guitar lessons, it different? I think not! And I've been a member a hell of a lot longer than he has. IMO it's a sneaky way to use a free forum to make a buck. You can't pick and choose who can spam and who can't because of content. Spam is spam and it's not allowed here.

Halfway down the page on his website, not youtube channel, is an advertisement to purchase his instructional DVDs. Funny, I never thought to visit that link, I guess I was only interested in the youtube links posted. If you look hard enough trouble will find you.

You only have to look as far as his tag line. And yeah, I did hit the report button. I can give you free photography lessons and sell my fine art prints on my site, can I put my link here. Free lessons are fine, but when you add a tag line directing you to a pay site, it's spam. I don't care how well he teaches. Go through the regular advertising channels like the rest of us small business owners. He did this same crap last year then went away for a while. Then he goes oop's sorry I didn't know. He's no better than the purse guy who spammed here and was reported. How many of us here teach guitar but can't link here? Why's this guy so special? Last time looked, this wasn't the Dolphin Street forum. He's just trying to round up new customers at the FMIC expense.

Regardless of the technicalities, Roberts lessons are some of the best I've watched on YouTube. I'd like him to know his work is appreciated, before he gets run off here.
