Dick Dale came over with his wife and talked to me after I played a gig for Surfer Magazine. I had seen him at a similar event when he got up on the stage and played all the instruments (bass, drums, etc.).

man... that is so awesome! Dick Dale is my idol! him and Takeshi Terauchi are freakin wicked cool! I admire a lot of different genre guitar and musicians but dick dale is really incredible.

Dick Dale's wife was a really beautiful bass player. She played long scale Fender basses with very tiny hands. I looked around on the web and couldn't find a picture of her.

I did run across Dick Dales string preference on his website:

"Dean Markley strings, Dale's string sizes are 16p, 18p, 20p. 38w, 48w, 58w...they use to be 39w, 49w, 60w.....he says he's getting lazy now."

I wonder what would happen if you put those on an SG!
