ON PBS LAST NIGHT
Live at Royal Albert Hall Clapton did one song with him
This is very COOL. MR. Bonamassa is playing a Gold top Les Paul
Clapton played a light blue Strat. :) :) :)
I forgot to say he also used a THEREMIN in a couple of songs.
----Danny,
JOE has scheduled 3 North West appearances for DEC. 2011 Seattle 12/15 Yakima and Vancouver B.C. the same week.

I think the tone he gets from that Strat is a thousand times better than his LPs. But maybe I'm a little biased?

I think Joe is riding the same Star Ship that I aspired to as a kid, and could never catch. The man is an absolute genius. WOW.

No argument here. His playing blows my mind sometimes. Especially anything on Sloe Gin.

Looking forward to a show and meet & greet in November. Maybe I'll bring a pickguard and try to get a signature...

Hi Kong: Mrs C and I did a meet-&-greet with Joe a year or two back. He was completely friendly and charming and I'm sure would be absolutely ready to sign that pickguard for you. A really nice guy.

But be warned. Mrs C afterwards remarked that she couldn't decide whether she wanted to adopt him or seduce him. And when we were chatting she was wildly batting her eyelids at him in a most alarming way. I was smiling bravely, but secretly I was wondering whether I'd have to suddenly punch his lights out. Which would have been a shame, before the show.

So just keep an eye on Bride-of-Kong. A man's gotta be careful...

Cheers - C

PS: "punch his lights out." As if...

I'm a big Joe Bonamassa fan myself, I've got all his studio albums. It would be very difficult to pick a favourite but 'Sloe Gin', 'So many Roads' and 'Tea For One' are right up at the top of the list.
I'll get to see this guy one day. :D

Thanks for the tip, Ceri. I remember you talking about Mrs. C's delight in meeting Joe. Maybe I should bring a neck for him to sign instead of a pickguard, could come in handy for just such a situation. I wonder if the giant 3' x 4' photo Mrs. Kong bought for my "birthday present" which is currently hanging in our living room could be a warning sign.
