Let's all pull back on the throttle. The plain words sans vocal inflections are beginning
to sound a bit hard. The point has been made that there's an apparent link to a commercial site which is deemed questionable and objected to based upon Forum guidelines and that this is an apparent recurrence. The OP should understand that the matter is not open for debate because it is as it is, [regardless of what our personal opinions might be regarding the matter in general] and I am sure that if we start getting into a tiff over it, our 'uberalleskommander' in Scottsdale will decide it for us and for him, as well.

I'm cool 63, you've been here a long time, always cool except the past few months, clever posts, make your point like a magician, understood before it's said. Why the change? You feeling OK, for real I meant no disrespect.

Nope I'm fine. I"m Just starting to get a little pissed off at some of the things going on on the forum. If anyone noticed the Dolphin guy posts links to his "free" lessons, everyone goes ooh and aah but the only person he responded to was me. The same sentence almost word for word the last time he made an appearance. But because it's a free guitar lesson everyone thinks it's cool. It's not, it's spam. The guy made no other comments to the people who complimented him but posts yet another lesson with his pay site in the sig. I just find it sad. If you want free lessons, support the Fender site and take a look at their free lessons. They foot the bill for the whole website and forum. What bothers me is how naive some of the members are. Fender and Gibson have free lessons.

I was practicing a few riffs on youtube and remembered Robert had posted some of them here. About 20 pages back I found 4 or 5 and bumped them all, look at those posts it was me. Never thought for a moment why he hadn't been around in awhile, Crystal now though. It's in the eyes of the beholder. Again it seems that you don't look at things the old way, this is new, a hostile tone, you always got your point across without that. No offense, you know. Talk to Brad, he will talk to you for sure.

Guys, I just want to say thanks for all the support. I apologize for coming across as "commercial" to some members. Honestly, what I'm trying to do is to share free lessons, and I try to make them as good as I can.

I never expected a link to my website would be seen as "spam". Really surprised me there. My site is not a "pay site" - it's full of completely free lessons.

The point of my posts on this forum has been to share some new, hopefully useful lessons - I do not ask anyone to go to my site to buy stuff.

So, I will refrain from ever again linking to my website (which has over 135 completely free lessons), since I'm told it is against the rules. By the way, I looked, but haven't been able to find where it says a member is not allowed to have a website link in the signature.

I stop by here now and then, but I'm not very regular. I just don't have a lot of time. I have a day job and I teach guitar at night, plus a million other commitments.

Regarding the guitar, it's a Hell guitar, just search for Hell Guitars (I dare not post the link after all this). I really like it, and it has fantastic pickups.

Thanks for the feedback about the lesson, glad to hear you enjoyed it. SRV's timing of licks was a bit different that Jimi's, in my opinion. SRV's sense of timing was more "in the pocket", whereas Jimi floated more over time. You know, more loose and not so exact when it comes to 8th notes and 16th notes. It's of course a preference of the player and listener, this timing thing. I like both ways of playing, but I find Jimi's style is harder to imitate.

The Strymon pedals are awesome - I am very impressed by their work, glad to hear you are too, Rossfloss!

All things being equal, what you offer in the way of educational format is greatly appreciated. The prohibition against commercialism is implied in all respects even though it might not be spelled out.

Hello Mr Street :D

Please don't remove your links from this forum. There are a lot of inexperienced players here that will benefit from your lessons.
Despite having played for years I myself look at them every now and again as a point of reference. It's always good to see how the other bloke does it and see what you can steal.
As for not interacting with other forum members that is a nonsense. I clearly remember when Miami Mike and I debated with you about your 4 note blues solo lesson. My point being that it was 4 position not 4 notes because you bent up to other notes (B and F# on a Ami pentatonic riff). Remember? Nah probably not, it matters little anyhow.
I for one can't find anywhere where you've linked to a direct sales pitch. All I see is links to good quality, free lessons. If anyone chooses to read the rest of the page, that's their business. If heaven forbid they choose to open a link on the page you've linked to, on their own heads be it. It's about as much spam as the lamb joint I had for dinner.

This really is becoming like 1984. When does the thought control kick in people? Can I go straight to room 101? I don't want to live in a overly paranoid world.

That's a cool lick Robert, after years of playing Hendrix covers professionally I have spent countless hours decyphering Hendrix style licks-they just sound so cool yet you make them look easy.BTW the way lots of guys put links to their businesses in their signatures so it must be OK-no one's obligated to pay for your videos unless they opt for the lessons so I don't see really what all the bother is about.

Nikininja, thanks for the support. That lesson I remember well, although it was a 3 note lesson, not 4. :)

Thanks guitslinger, Hendrix stuff can be hard for all of us. He was such a Master on guitar.

Yes, please continue to operate here. The lessons are very appreciated. Unless the moderator asks you to change something, I would not worry about a thing.

Just to throw my two cents in....I play those licks the Hendrix way...and what it is,is variations on a blues intro....pure and simple.
