Why would that be any different than a 12 year old wearing a Led Zeppelin, The Who or Sex Pistols tee shirt or listening to them on their iPods. I listened to Buddy Holly and Les Paul. Kids are sometimes influenced by what their parents listen to. Just because we grew up when these bands were around, doesn't mean we own the music. It's just a way of it being carried on.

So does Bieber compare himself to a suicidal drug addict who got lucky, or is he comparing himself to a garage band musician who got lucky? I know it's not the latter. I think he was fabricated kind of like the Monkees. Except the Monkees music was recorded by an incredibly talented bunch of musicians known as "The Wrecking Crew".

I felt the same way as when the BeeGees described themselves as bigger and more influential than the Beatles.

Contrary to popular belief, only The Monkees 1st album was played by the Wrecking Crew. After the first album Micky Dolenz took a crash course in drumming and apparently was a natural and from there on he and Nesmith and Tork-who were seasoned musicians in their own rights-played on all their albums with occassional input from the Wrecking Crew in songs such as Valleri where Mike Nesmith-quite understandably-couldn't play the guitar lead parts.Davy Jones was the only one that couldn't play and instrument other than maracas and tambourine.
Mike Nesmith was a songwriter of some note, known especially for writing "Different Drum" for Linda Ronstadt and The Stone Ponys and Peter Tork had been playing as a multi-instrumentalist in Greenwich Village for several years before auditioning for the Monkees.

1st i've heard of it, but it's an absolutely rediculous statement.
Andy Gibb maybe, Kurt Cobain.....WTF is the kid thinking?

I'm not really what you'd call a fan of KC, but I find him an interesting study.
The book "Journals, the writings of Kurt Cobain" read like the writings of Gregori Raspvtin.....a touch of insanity interspersed with moments of unbelieveable clarity and even occasional strokes of genius and insight.
