i agree with nutter 100%. a broken heart has inspired many, many of the songs we too hold near and dear.

oh there you go.
i know darn well if something were to cause you a breakup that acoustic would be blazing a trail into blues land tim.
not that this is the place for it but we dont even know what happened and why they broke up. it might be something very stupid or a total misunderstanding.
maybe she just wants chased a lil bit. all women love being chased. not in a stalker sort of way but you know what i mean. :D

Oh yeah bro...I'd get the blues...but then I'd have to man up and move on...cycle of life I'm afraid. I've never really been one to chase the women down; if they're not happy, no sense in beating a dead horse.
On the other hand, I see where the OP is coming from, and maybe the girl is touched by his show of emotion, just not my style is all. YMMV

Doc got it right first time. Tell her to eff off.

If you're going to dedicate some soppy song to her let it be this one.

Well you guys are right, I haven't met 'the one' yet. :) Sure thought I did years back- I was soo convinced and she was too. We went back right to when we were teenagers. But as you do- things went pear shaped & made the mistake of trying to win er back.. epic fail. Nowadays Im 'that guy' who picks up the pieces from her broken relationships & comes to the rescue- all the time. Then when a glimmer of hope of actually manning up and telling her what I feel... shes jumping in, feet first in another relationship and I feel like crap because I cared too much and she didnt. I left contact with her about 6 months ago now because as we all know, your friends disapear when they hook up in relationships. For what heartache that was all worth through the years, I wouldn't even tune a string for her. Ive waited years for that chance and have got absolutely nowhere.

Sure I sound cynnical, but Ive learnt my lessons. I stand by what I said about not writing a song about a girl, but like I said I would about a relationship if you know what I mean  I think more male artists write about women, doesnt seem to be the same way back. lol they tend to get a little twisted like Alanis Morrisette & Delores O'Riordan (in her early 'linger' song)

The crux of the issue is that there is not 'The One'.
It/she/he doesn't perpetually exist.
People and things change over time. What was right yesterday aint necessarily right today.
What makes a relationship work is changing together. Start off good, change together, weather the storms those changes cause. Thats the secret of a good relationship. The minute you start pulling in different directions it's time to part.

I see no reason to repeat a venture that's already failed once.
