Normally when I pick up my guitar its with the intention of studying and for the sake of practice.
Today was a little different. I picked it up and played the he#$ out of it, or should I say it played me. I banged on that thing till I was worn out. God it felt good. And because of all the practising, I found that I could do some stuff that I have never done before.
I was playing at a different level. It's about time. 8) :D

Danny yup practice sure does help...this weekend I played some Black Sabbath with my son (he is a drummer). This was totally out of character for me (I am a blues guy) but it was fun and sure did break the bit of a rut I was in here lately!

Glad you throttled that guitar a bit, sometimes just banging away is a way to break that rut or just going for it and sometimes you surprise yourself

Funny, I kicked at that wall myself yesterday! It really is cathartic.

When I was playing my brother in law's 1954 Martin D-28 and loving the sound of it,he said the same thing,"they're made to have the hell played out of them."

The book is helping to keep me focused, I also am finding myself making reference to it for help with understanding. Its in its own way becoming a good friend. Thanks for the help. :)
