Aight, so what is the best kind of Dean Markley strings??? Theres so many different types: Blue Steel, Vintage Reissue, Hendrix Signature, idk what kind to buy, THEY ALL SOUND GOOD!!!!!! Please, out of your experience, what is the best type, I'm lookin for a .09-.046 gauge but am willing to compromise to a .010 to .046, I play fast strummed melodic power/barre chords in a punk rock style matched with blues licks, so like The Stooges with more Hendrix blues I guess, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks.

Hey :)

I haven't used any of those ones before, but I have used the Nickelsteel electric series string before, and I like them. They aren't too expensive either. Hope you find some you like though!

Here's a linky http://www.deanmarkley.com/Strings/Electric/NickelSteelEl.shtml

Tried the blue steel before. I remember them being good, but for some reason I always gravitate to Fender Bullets.

The other guitarist in my last band used the Blue Steels (9s if I'm not mistaken) and I liked them. He had such a light hand on the guitar that they lasted him a long time. I don't think I've ever ever had them on my guitar before but I liked them on his guitars.
I've used Ernie Ball forever, but just recently found a new favorite set of strings; the Dunlop strings in the pack with the big D on the front. I'm using 10 and they feel about as good as Ernie Ball 9s. And Dunlop is a local company so I like to show them my support.

Try the Blue Steel's. I have used them for about 10 years now.

+1 on the Blue Steels...I used them for a while and liked them but ended up going back to EB 10s...maybe out of force of habit...

And Chet, I love that tag line of "I didn't lose my mind I traded if for this guitar"...coolness incarnate 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

I used them before they were vintage reissues. LOL
I used Dean Markley High Output Light Top Heavy Bottom for years until they discontinued them.
They may have been 10-52's It's hard to remember, but I think they were Nickle/Steel.
Great sounding strings.

Vintage Reissues on the Nashville Tele
Blue Steel on the American Special Strat, 10s on both. The strings do last for awhile longer than the Fender strings I've used. Think I'll switch the sets around on ther next restring and polish day.

D'Angelico, I've been using them since Dean Markley stopped making my favorites. Great strings, long life, great tone.

I'd have to give the Blue Steel a slight edge in lasting longer, but as a play at home guitarist I'm not beating the strings up all that bad. Usually changed at 3 months or so because they start to sound dead.
As I said before I am wondering now about switching the string sets around on the
guitars. More about touch and tone than anything else.

Hope this helped,
John.E

The ones you like the best.

My personal favorites are the Vintage reissue 1973 set.
