Basically, I've opted to save my money, and keep my 87' MIJ Strat stock after many, many nights of considerations. With that said, I'm pondering to which guitar I should go for next! :D

I tried doing some research, but nothing is as conclusive as I'd like it to be, and was wondering if you guys had suggestions or direction I could be pointed in.

I did however narrow it down to 3 companies though:
Fender, Ibanez, and Godin.

I have a bit of criteria though, which are listed below:
  • Floyd Rose Trem
  • At least 22 frets (24 is always nice)
  • At least fretboard radius of 10"
  • Suitable for jazz fusion (George Marios, Tom Quayle, Rick Graham)
    and neoclassical (Yngwie, Gilbert, Becker)
  • HSH pickup routings

I'm operating on a budget of about $1100CDN, and willing to do some mod work to swap out things for aftermarket products (pickups, nut, saddles, etc).

Thanks guys!

Hey Jones...first, smart move deciding to keep your old guitar and save for a new one; might save you some regret in the future.
Now on to your question. I read through your post and based solely on your criteria I'd have to suggest an Ibanez...specifically the one I almost bought earlier this year, the S770PB http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/prod ... sku=584144 . I'm not sure of the conversion rate between US and Candian, but I do believe it'd be in your price range. And believe me, that is one sweet guitar.
The AlNico II pickups are pretty nice, and although I don't play any Jazz, the clean tones when I was playing that guitar were very smooth.
Good luck on your search.
