Hello folks,

I was just curious to know whether it would be comfortable to play a Rhoads model sitting. Based on the design I was thinking you could use a semi-classical position with the wings resting on each side of the right leg.

Obviously it's ideal for standing and having a nice session, but I felt compelled to ask anyway. :P

I think thats the way most shredders sit. I'd feel a bit wick playing a guitar that pointy though.

nope its still a PITA, but not as bad as a flying V is. your neck angle is still
in an upward position all the time. i personally just didnt like that with mine.

now my buddy really liked the idea of the upward neck position at rest. he said it was a very relaxing way to set and play for him. the guitar was in a very fixed position and it felt comfortable that way.
now keep in mind, i fret with my left hand but rest my guitars on my left leg.
i think most guys would rest the guitar on their rt leg. so if the V was on my left leg its a very uncomfortable stretch for me to do.

Had one, played it in classical pose. Grew to love that posture so much that I still use it today with my other guitars. Despite the RR being long gone.

Great guitar.

I owned the exact guitar you have a picture of, snow white w/ black pinstripes. Personally I loved it for sitting down and playing, classical style as was previously mentioned. Only reason I sold the guitar because I couldn't stand the Floyd Rose (I bought it because I thought it was awesome, til I had to do string changes etc...), if I could find another RR1 without the Floyd I might get it.

Thanks guys, glad to know there's some love for the RR1. Maybe a few years down the road I'll be able to have a more serious look at acquiring one.

they can be had on the cheap now. the longer you wait the price will go up. these jacksons of yesteryear are starting to get their second look. folks are buying them up little by little.
