Gene Simmons is all about marketing. He'd probably sell his own mother if there was a big enough profit in it. Sorry Way Cool, our band covered some of their stuff like "Strutter" in the 70's but as you can tell, I was never a fan.

oh there are plenty out there that were never a fan, but, folks just cant take away the fact of how big they got and their importance in rock n roll history.
i use to love kiss but im not a big fan any more. their time is up in my opinion.
i think the thing that really did me in on them was the number of farewell tours they did.
way to many. they over played it. im not sure i would even go see them for free these days. last 3 times ive saw them they were embarassing themselves. the sound quality was pizz poor and they just werent putting very much energy into the show.
the old kiss's shows if anything were energey packed, and the show was amazing.
when you left you felt like you just ran a 20 sprint. you talked about it for days.
well the last 2 or 3 times i couldnt wait to forget it. growing up and well into the 80's
i was probably one of the biggest kiss fans that could be found. few groups can say that they were legends. kiss is one of them.

I think the only woman Gene really respects is his mother. I heard him say that she is the only person who needs to know where he's going and what he's doing.

Last time I saw them (Nov 2009) I heard a few flubs. Gene came in with vocals for the chorus of Calling Dr. love and the band was still playing the groove one more bar before the chorus started.
Heard a couple more but thats the one that stood out. I bet half the people there didn't even notice.

Hey, you're a fan or not a fan, at least this is an intelligent discussion of that. The worst is people who just go straight to "KISS sucks"....I mean I despise Garth Brooks and Nirvana but both of them were HUGE, can't deny it. I say any group that stuck it out long enough and went through the hard times to make it famous deserves some of my respect. If we all liked the same thing the world would be a pretty boring place right?

July will be the 21st KISS concert for me. Sure they're older and have slowed down a bit but hell so did I. It would be a hard argument to say that any of our favorite "classic" 70's rockers that are still touring didn't slow down somewhat due to age etc. There still my favorite songs and I have a blast every time. The only KISS show I was ever disappointed in was in '03 when they toured w/Aerosmith, it was really time to go for Peter, his playing was sloppy and disjointed.

Rock on Fender brothers, have a great weekend. 8)

but wait, your either a peter fan or not. the way you just described peter was the way the whole group was the last time i saw them. "disjointed and sloppy".
