I've dismissed him already! Let me say this forum is the best one I've come across, by far, for help and discussion of my hobbies. I find I have to come to it everyday. I also read the BMW auto forums and the Ducati motorcycle forums and they are nowhere close to this one as far as the good people who contribute to it are concerned.

Ok, I'm over it.

I am a member of another forum (related to harp players), and they stick almost solely to "equipment-only" subjects...and and most members of that forum only visit periodically (less than once a week), because there's only so much you can say about equipment.

I will say this, though, they are just as polite there as on the Fender forum; perhaps a bit more, because there's no room for controversy, due to no subjects or topics of passion outside of harps, effects, mics and amps.

...guess which Forum I visit more often?

I'm sure you guys don't mind if I hijack this thread. Along the lines of what Danny said above, I had my first guitar lesson yesterday in 45 years. My teacher was visibly pleased when I said I wanted to focus on blues for the time being. As we went through the lesson he kept stopping down to add a little story or historical tid bit about blues. The hour lesson went by in about 5 minutes. Music can be just as much fun if your playing it or talking about it.
