I went to the Memorial Day sale yesterday at Guitar Center and must say I was much more attracted to the new Squiers. The PawnShop series is pretty ugly. The Squiers were definitely more beautiful. Wasn't able to play the PawnShop ones because they were stacked really high though and there were so many people there getting service was hard. The fiesta red VM is really nice in person and the sunbursts are super nice, bright, clean as well. The PawnShop series just didn't match up.

I haven't had a chance to play the Pawn Shop series yet. I'm not really a big fan of the Squier VM. I think it was the finish on the back of the neck that didn't sit well with me; it's been a while since I played one. For the money though, Squier is putting out some guitars that are a great value.

+1 they are pretty amazing for the cash... don't like the jazzmaster personally i'd like a "fender correct" squier version if they get the chance to do so... though i do like the butterscotch blonde
