I was also waiting for the tickets for the TO concert, however they are unfortunately playing Air Canada Center. I have seen a few concerts there and the venue is biggest piece of S@#% sound wise. If you are lucky to be placed really close to the band/stage it might work.

Anywho, have a good time

Sold out, what does that even mean?
Don't mean to be rude just the best intentions, I have never followed them (pearl jam), just like some of their songs. What did they represent to you that they sold out.

In the music biz world and the only thing that is constant is the change. Any artist that signs the contract becomes a contractor to the record company and is expected to create in the certain time frame (artist's job) the product (music) that will record company market/sell in largest quantity possible. That is how they make living.

If you think of it as a business scenarios (quite simplified but you can get the point):

1: You create "productA" that you enjoy creating but doesn't sell = no bread on the table.

2. Public in drones want a "productB" that you are not passionate to create but is so fn.. popular and you can sell a ton of it = not only bread on the table but mercedes and a yacht.

What do you do (some thinking required here)? Also know that almost no one in their right mind and over the age of 35 does not care about the principles.

Ah Negative Creep and Floyd, I can guarantee I am a bigger Nirvana fan then either of you two put together. Stop trying to mimic Kurt, because he didn’t like Pearl Jam…………I've seen your other posts and can clearly see this is what your attempting to do.

Form your own opinions

Pearl Jam sold out no more then Nirvana did……

Actually I'm not trying to mimic Kurt. At all. Just don't like the band much. People who act a certain way just because *famous person* does annoy me to no end. And I'm not even THAT huge of a Nirvana fan now, I'd say my favorite band is either The Melvins (of course you'll just say I'm mimicking Kurt), The Jesus Lizard, or Big Black.

And I wasn't trying to respond to the OP, more just adding to Negative Creep's post my own opinion on the matter. To me, they sold out by completely changing their sound into something that was (IMO) clearly intended to do nothing but sell.

Edit: oh and after Nirvana became successful, they basically anti-sold out. They responded to Nevermind's success with In Utero, which is borderline unlistenable compared to most mainstream music.

Pearl jam are bloody awesome live. Floyd, no way did they sell out. IMO ten was there worst album, the rest of there albums are really good . There sound changed for many reasons, one being that Eddie started playing guitar in some songs, two they gradually have matured. Not all songs by 1 artist have to sound the same, I reckon you'll like the album vitality Floyd, check it out

Pearl Jam are a great band. I don't think they've sold out, they do have some material I don't like so much, but that just shows a stylistic change. They are a band that really doesn't need any more money, so maybe what people call selling out is actually them being able to play the music they want as opposed to what the label wants.

As to the OP...enjoy the show, I heard Pearl Jam is awesome live!
