ok you DIY'ers, lets see some pics of where ya make it all happen. lets see those work bench pics. in my case at the moment, it might be anywhere from the kitchen table to the kitchen counter tops, to the hood of my car. living in a condo sucks. so show me what i have to look forward to when i buy a house this spring. well, next spring.

Man,I do most of my amp and guitar work on the kitchen table,I just cover it with old towels and have at it.
That's one good thing about living alone,no one gripes about the stuff I leave laying around.
One of these days I'm going to make me a good work bench and shop area.

Depends on what kind of workbench you're speaking of. For guitar stuff I use the kitchen table 99% of the time. I have a small workbench in the garage that my vice and bandsaw are mounted to, otherwise I put up two saw-horses and a sheet of plywood of an on the go bench. Just 20 minutes got done welding an exhaust system for my brother's car on that setup in fact.

Well you're all set then come next Spring!
My basement was just concrete walls and floor joists above me. Did the whole concept of design, spec'd out the electronics for HT, designed the lighting ( 4 separate zones with remote control dimming for multiple scenes ) and built/finished the walls and ceiling and bar. And plumbed in a FHW baseboard. Also calibrated the HT for sound and video. Only thing I didn't do was put in the W-W rug. Hired that out. So I have an area for movies and music listening, another for my instruments and another area to entertain. Which has a table that doubles as my "workbench". Maybe I should have just built a workbench...

Though I was generally dependent on the weather, my work ares were rather crude, stoves and tables in the seller, picnic bench in the back yard and driveway for spraying. I've since sold the stove so my building days are over.
