Hi FH: and I have the dubious pleasure of having drunk some of the very worst coffee in the world too. So I feel I've covered the spectrum!

Cheers - C

I like the darkest strongest coffee I can find. That used to be Starbucks French Roast but now I'm using Kicking Horse Kick A$s.

Side note: Most people I encounter think dark coffee has more caffeine. Not even close to being true. The lighter the coffee the more caffeine. The coffee bean releases it's caffeine when it is heated. Old fashioned percolators make the highest caffeine coffee because the coffee grounds are heated for a very long time so they release almost all of their caffeine into the coffee. Drip coffee has less because the ground coffee is exposed to the heat for a much shorter period of time. Dark roasted beans were heated longer during the roasting process so they released much more of their caffeine long before they ever made it into your coffee maker and therefore have less caffeine left in them than those light brown beans that people think are so light in caffeine. Espresso, which everyone thinks is loaded with caffeine, actually has the least amount of caffeine of any kind of (non-decaffinated) coffee because it starts with very dark coffee and is expose to heat for only a few seconds.

The things you learn in this Forum... :D

My favorite brand is Chock Full o' Nuts, a popular coffee in the NYC-area. Not sure if it's sold on the West Coast, though...

Speaking of coffee, a new study suggests that drinking six or more cups of coffee a day can reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men by 60%!

Seems like six cups a day is a lot to drink, but if you're a serious caffeine addict, maybe not so hard to do...

Oh, now I get it. The clever answer to Chuck Full O Nuts: Major Dickason's

I drink KCup at work, Vermount Country Blend brand, I'm stuck on French Roast.

I start every morning with Cafe Bustelo espresso.
Going to Italy this summer, and I'm planning to bring back a bunch of espresso from there, both ground and whole bean.

Most of the time I drink Folgers Black Satin in the already ground stuff. And If I want to grind it myself I go to Winco and they have one that has a very similar name that I'm not remembering right now.

The black satin is tasty coffee. I didn't think to go to Winco to check their bulk coffee. I buy all my cereal that way, why not coffee...good idea Chet.

Went and picked up some Black Satin from Winco. Good stuff, thanks for the suggestion Chet.

I am not sure if it sold south of CAN border but the Tim Horton's decaf is my #1 (for the ones experienced with Timi's decaf tastes quite different than regular). On the regular side any Wienna brand, Jamaican Blue Mountain (light flavour) or Starbucks Kenya (Bold) will do.

Three or four of the people where I work have started buying from Coffee Snobs - I just like being able to sit down somewhere while someone makes it for me so I haven't tried them yet.
