The only time I worried my Mom and dad was when I bought a Run DMC Tape, until I pointed out Aerosmith was on it.

When I was about 15 years old, my mother come home from work and found me watching Pink Floyd's The Wall. She freaked out and tried to take the tape away from me. She still doesn't understand why I listen to Floyd. You'd think that someone who smoked weed in the 70s would get it. :?

My mom is thinking of my father and his friends smoking weed when she hears about floyd :( Made my life a little hard at some points

I'd also say stop listening to music similar to what you want to write for a while

my mom also has some issues with classic hard rock such as led zeppelin, black sabbath acdc ...

the funny thing is she went to an acdc concert when she was a teenager.

i don't feel so alone having a mom that dislikes most music i like now.

btw after watching nirvana unplugged and seeing the meat puppets it finally just struck me that you don't have to fit into a certain style or genre to have great music. from now on i'm just going to let whatever comes out come. if it's good it's good regardless of kind of music it is.

now i just have to decide what i think is good
