OK lets milk this topic dry...
What are the most common songs heard at the blues Jam. When you respond, respond for two different categories -- blues songs, and non-blues (rock) songs...

for me.
Blues
1) Mustang Sally
2) Red House
3) Stormy Monday
4) Let the Good Times Roll.
5) Pride and Joy

Rock (non blues)
1) House of the Rising Sun
2) Susie q (or anything by CCR).
3) Anything by ZZ Top (which I guess could be considered blues)

I would say that the most common blues jam song that you always hear is, that old Jimmy Reed tune "Baby What You Want Me To Do". I mean, everybody knows that one - heck, Elvis even jammed on it during his "68 comeback concert".

Key of "E", 12/8 blues shuffle...
We're goin' up
We're goin' down
Goin' up, down, down, up
Any way you wanna let it roll
Yeah, yeah, yeah
You got me doin' what you want
Baby what you want me to do?

Got me peepin'
Got me hidin'
Got me peep, hide, hide, peep,
Any way you wanna let it roll
Yeah yeah yeah
You got me doin' what you want
Baby what you want me to do

{insert extended blues pentatonic solos from everybody jamming along}

Return to main verse, or come up with your own lyrics to add to it, or perhaps change keys and launch into another tune, and keep it going. 8)

Everytime I hear that song ButchA...I think about the Cheech and Chong movie where a really hot blonde is singing it and can't sing at all.

I've hosted many blues jams, and the aim should be that there be I-IV-V blues songs that most know at a blues jam, so that they can play together.

I personally have about five or six songs that I’ll do at blues jam...also, if you sing, than the rest of the players have to follow you. I hate it when a player wants to do a song, and doesn't know the lyrics, if I'm up there leading a session, the song usually doesn't get played.

Around here probably Chuck Berry riffs and the riff in many different tempos of Kansas City!!

Of course one of my favorites is Red House- Jimi Hendrix style!! 8)
