So, when you go to the blues Jams, what do you see the most of ? Here is my list of most common to least common

1) Guitarist
2) Drummer
3) Harpist
4) Bassist
5) Vocalist
6) Hornist
7) WashBoardist

Just curious to see what you are seeing in your town :)

Plenty of guitarists at the Blues jam... followed by harp players probably. There always seems to be a lack of drummers and bass players.

Guitarists who think they can play the blues are the most common.
There was a one-armed harmonica player that showed up here at a local blues jam,for some reason I had thought it would be hard to play with only one hand but he made it look easy. :)

I've been to (and hosted) them from Miami to Maine and a few out on West Coast and what I've seen mostly is :

1. Guitarist - most times with vocals, sometimes with slides
2. Bass - sometimes with vocals
3. Drums
4. Harp - sometimes with vocals
5. Piano/Keys - rarely vocals
6. Male and Female vocalists - some can actually sing!

Mostly guitarists, followed by harp players. Drummers seem slightly more common than bass players, and horn players a little less common than bass players. There also seem to be about as many keyboard players as horn players. Most of the time the singer also plays an instrument.
