Okay, I've recently decided to purchase a bass amp similar to one Liverpudlian's that you're all familiar with. What would be the best amp for about $100 to go with it?

Maby try that little Marshall MG30 good for a pa or a guitar. I dont know if it could handel a Bass. Lots of them on line for that price

If I only had $100.00 to spend on a bass amp, I would buy a Fender Rumble.

My friend has one (30 combo).... Nice little bass amps, great tone, great price

Most excellent, but would a regular Strat mess with the tone of a Rumble, or can I cut down one tree with two axes?

I'm pretty sure you only have to worry about bass through guitar amp; as far as I know, you can play guitar through a bass amp just fine.

Yep guitars work great through bass amps. 59 Bassman more use it for guitar than bass.

Yep. Don't play a bass through a guitar amp at least very loud or for very long. That's why they make bass amps. I go with the Rumble. You can get a 15 watter for around $90. It only has an 8" speaker. Ampeg bass amps are nice but I think a bit out of your price range. You could try Hartke too. About $150 would get you a 25 watter.

Used, you might find some cool amps in your price range. All the bass players I know carry some pretty heavy wattage just to cut a mix. It's a frequency thing.
