I've seen the Les Paul STory and a couple of other films about him and stuff but just wondered if there were any films of the Fender Story?

I've got the Strat Chronicles and the Back Guard books, but, let's face it, it's easier to sit back with a beer and some popcorn and watch it on the big/small screen..............

Or are there any othe 'guitar' films that folks would advise...........?

Check out the film It Might Get Loud. It's a documentary that follows three very different guitarists (Jimmy Page, Jack White, and the Edge) and they discuss the different way they approach playing the guitar. I found it to be very interesting. Not exactly the type of film I get the idea you were talking about, but great none the less.

Cheers Tim, I have that one and it's really good.

What is the Edge's pedal board like eh?

Is there any other music documentaries out there that folks can recommend? 8)

Excessive is the first word that comes to mind. If you have to have three pairs of hands on it to unload it you know you've passed the point of no return. I've never been much of a fan of the Edge, cause he really just lets the pedals do most of the playing for him; not that that's anything wrong just not my cup o' tea. I don't think you could find two guitarists more radically opposed than the Edge and Jack White.

Speaking of jack White, White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights is a great docu, Jack White gives some awesome insight into his stylings, why he uses the gear he does, how he puts himself in a little box, it's so #$@*&!% inspiring.

I'll have to check that one out too. I'm not a big White Stripes fan, but after seeing It Might Get Loud, I can respect where Jack White's coming from. And with all the bad press he's been unapologetic about what he does and I don't think he's compromised at all. Which can be easy if everyone's complaining about what you're doing.

HBO documentry "Standing In The Shadow of Motown" is a nice blend of the old and new as well as a painless history lesson.

Besides, Northern Lights and It Might Get Loud, a few others that I have, not necessarily about guitarists
Roy Orbison: Black and White Nights
When You're Strange, about the Doors
The US vs. John Lennon
Ramones Raw
Stones in Exile

Bad Religion - The Riot is fantastic as well. It details the great Bad Religion show that was shut down by the cops in 89 and led to a riot.
